ThisThat is a small polling app. You answer quick either/or questions, and it shows you how everyone else answered — including how people your age and gender answered. Those breakdowns are the whole point, which is why it asks two things about you at sign-up. Here is exactly what gets stored.

What is collected

Your Google account

When you sign in, Google shares your email address, name, profile picture and a Google account ID. Your email is used to identify your account. Your password is never seen — sign-in happens entirely on Google's side.

Age bracket and gender

The two answers given at sign-up. They are used only to group votes into demographic breakdowns.

Your votes

Which option was chosen on each question, and when.

Points

A running count of votes cast, at five points each.

What is not collected

No location, no contacts, no browsing history, no advertising identifiers. There are no third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this site. The only cookie set is the one that keeps you signed in.

How it is used

Your age bracket and gender are pooled with everyone else's to work out the percentages you see after voting. Those are always group totals. Someone can see that 62% of 25–34 year olds picked one option — never how any particular person voted. The database enforces this: your individual votes are readable only by you.

Who else sees it

ThisThat uses two services to run: Supabase stores the data and handles sign-in, and Vercel serves the site. Both keep data on servers in the United States. Nobody else receives your information.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your account and votes are kept until you ask for them to be deleted. Email anchal.choubey24@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and your account, votes and points will be deleted within 30 days.

Deleting your account removes your individual votes. Aggregate counts already published on a question — the totals everyone sees — cannot be traced back to you and are not recalculated.

You can also ask for a copy of everything stored about you at the same address.

Age

ThisThat is not intended for children under 13, and accounts should not be created by them. If you believe a child under 13 has signed up, email the address above and the account will be removed.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is used, the date at the top of this page will change and a notice will be shown in the app.
